Marlton Boys Basketball

Martlon 8th grade team won the "Love & Basketball" tournament at Competitive Edge in King of Prussia, PA.

They beat a tough and physical team from Philadelphia Youth Organinzation in OT, 54-50. Grant Gibson hit the game tying shot as the clock expired in regulation. In game 2, the Keystone Blazers played a strong first half but Marlton kicked in the defense and pulled away in the second half. 

The championship game pitted Marlton against Sharon Baptist. Both teams were 2-0 with the winner taking the championship.  The first half was closley contested. Early in the second half, Marlton opened up a 10 point lead only to see Sharon Baptist ratchet up the defense and got the lead down to 2. That would be as close as they would get with a final basket at the buzzer to make the final 48-46.

This was a good tournament for Marlton 8A as they had 2 week break in their SJBBL schedule.  The boys closeout the regular season this week with 2 game and then the playoffs begin.
